Profile

I’m a chef and award-winning writer, editor, and content expert. With more than a decade of experience, I’ve covered everything from local community events, to food, esports, gaming, NFL, and major product launches. I’m also a comic nerd and tech junkie.

Experience

Electronic Arts, Writer - editorial & Content strategy

June 2017 - April 2019 | September 2020 - September 2021

A driving force behind delivering editorial content and expertise, I was responsible for writing, editing, and brainstorming all written content surrounding the Madden franchise. This grew from one or two blog posts a week to daily articles ranging from player ratings content, patch notes updates, game feature launches, landing pages, email marketing, third-party articles, script for video, and esports coverage.

National football league, digital features editor

September 2014 - June 2017

While at NFL, I was the editorial point person behind NFL UP, an Emmy Award-winning website that featured a plethora of content focused on NFL training methods. I was responsible for managing the editorial calendar, writing and editing owned articles as well as contributor pieces, ensuring video quality, programming the site, monitoring fan voting, and growing the NFL UP Instagram channel from zero followers to more than 10K.

Poptv, Technical producer

June 2016 - September 2017

My venture into live TV. Here I edited and curated content for the live show “Big Brother: After Dark.” This included viewer polls, trivia, fun facts, and other material focused on audience engagement. While ensuring quality and accuracy, this was all organized and managed through a CMS where we pushed the desired content live to the audience while maintaining constant contact with the show’s director.

CHOWNOW, SR Tech Support SPECIALIST

April 2015 - August 2015

I became a part of ChowNow to build out a more solidified tech support platform. This included writing and establishing trouble-shooting steps that did not exist before. I was the lead tech support person and helped develop a QA process for the client facing system.

Hulu, Tech Support Supervisor

December 2012 - September 2014

Along with writing and editing email templates, help articles, and training docs, I was a leading member of the tech support department’s web team. I not only handled heavy call and email volume, but responsibilities included reporting and monitoring bugs, website and mobile app QA, and handling escalations.

Antelope valley press, assistant entertainment editor

April 2010 - December 2012

My first professional job in journalism. I started as a night shift Copy Editor and worked my way up to Assistant Entertainment Editor. In that position, I wrote, edited, and designed both daily and weekly entertainment sections. I also delivered coverage of the video game industry, something the paper wasn’t covering before. I wrote gaming news, reviews, previews, and covered E3. Along with being the gaming point man for the paper, I also covered a wide range of other events, such as food trucks and drive-in theaters (yes, they do still exist).
